the prices for those decent furry wind niose stopper things is silly... ?30 for a little bit of material.

Does anyone know of any cheaper ways to DIY it? it seems to me like if u got the right material you could make one ureself easily enough.

Keene.co.uk sell a DIY kit that comes with the material and lining and velcro for ?10 so i might end up getting that...

    but anyone got any ideas?

Here in the states they have furry mits to put on your hands for washing your car, and they work GREAT as windsocks for a mic blimp. I made a good blimp by forming a tube out of some wire fencing material (about 15 inches long and 4 inches in diameter), putting small kitchen strainers on the ends (I had to cut off the handles), wiring the tube to a swimming pool pole, and covering the whole thing with 2 furry mits. I used a senheiser MK80 shotgun mic and it worked just as well as the expensive pro blimps in some pretty windy conditions.
